My Story.
My journey began with a passion for exploring the world. At 18, I moved to London and spent much of my twenties travelling, including volunteering in Thailand and Cambodia. These experiences sparked a deep desire to help others and ultimately led me to pursue a career in counselling.
After completing my Diploma of Counselling in 2013, I left the corporate sector and began working in community mental health, supporting people experiencing severe mental illness. I later moved into the family violence sector, specialising in supporting women and children escaping violence. This work taught me invaluable lessons about trauma, risk assessment, research, education, gender equity, and the importance of self-care.
Like many helping professionals, I eventually experienced vicarious trauma, burnout, and was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. While challenging, this experience transformed my understanding of healing and wellbeing. It also inspired my passion for supporting other practitioners through counselling and TRTP (The Richards Trauma Process).
During my own recovery, I found healing through nature, hiking, forest bathing, sound healing, therapy, and TRTP. As a lifelong musician and singer-songwriter, sound healing felt like a natural extension of my journey. What began with creating my first medicine drum and learning the Native American flute soon evolved into combining sound healing, hiking, and forest bathing. From this, Sound Medicine Hikes was born with the very first iteration on Winter Solstice 2020.
A few months later, I discovered plant music through Music of the Plants. It felt like the missing piece that beautifully united sound and nature. This became a constant offering in Sound Medicine Hikes, as well as inspired my indoor immersive Sound Medicine Journeys that help people reconnect with themselves, nature, and the restorative power of sound.
My Approach.
I offer an integrated approach that combines trauma-informed practice, clinical experience, nature connection, and grounded spirituality.
Whether you come to me for counselling, TRTP, workshops, or individual sessions, you can expect a safe, supportive, and client-centred experience. My work is informed by evidence-based therapeutic approaches, ecotherapy, and years of experience facilitating groups and supporting people through trauma.
Spirituality can be included where it feels meaningful for you, but it is never imposed. Every session is guided by your individual needs, goals, and preferences.
Through my workshops and nature-based programs, I blend forest bathing, sound healing, environmental education, and wellbeing practices in a way that is accessible, inclusive, and empowering. I believe that connecting with nature not only supports our mental health and wellbeing, but also deepens our care for the natural world.
My goal is to help you build practical skills, strengthen your connection with yourself and nature, and discover tools that support your wellbeing long after the session ends.
After all, we are nature.
Are you ready to dare to change?
